Diana Jane Smith, a native of the Buffalo, NY area has been a professional artist since the age of 14 working as an advertising graphic artist for her family’s publishing firm. She attended Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. Diana has exhibited in NY state shows receiving numerous awards. Her works are included in private collections across the USA as well as Canada, Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Other works have been represented in galleries in Western New York, Naples, FL and Taos, NM. Ms. Smith has received two national awards for architectural re-design and corporate imaging. Her areas of commercial art/design include advertising and promotional projects, landscape and architectural renderings, calligraphy, illustration, interior refinement and home staging. In addition she has taught adult art education and designed and restored a historic Erie Canal building, held public office and compiled local signage codes. Diana also designed and illustrated a 1995 Ryder Cup (PGA) poster and limited edition art print rendered in watercolor. She was accepted into the 2016 Mile High International Pastel Exhibition in Denver, CO and is a past member of Oil Painters of America. Diana is the a signature member of the Taos Watercolor Society, and in 2018 was elected President.
