Born into a fifth generation farming family in eastern Illinois Lonnie has always had a love for livestock, wildlife and rural living. A lifelong artist, he graduated from college with degree in graphic arts and proceeded to Texas. After working for several agencies in Dallas he ended up doing computer graphics for American Airlines. Not only did he learn early computer technology, he also had the benefit of world travel. Always with camera in hand he visited such places as Kenya and Australia. Stepping back into the realm of fine art he began participating and exhibiting with Southwest Watercolor Society (Dallas) and Texas Watercolor Society (San Antonio), and soon gained signature status with both. After serving a year as president of Waterloo Watercolor Group (Austin) Lonnie decided to look for new adventures and made the move to Taos.
